In some ways, the Trommites were one of the best kept secrets in the UP. A member planet, renowned for their spirituality and pacifism, often sought out by those seeking enlightenment or rehabilitation. Though their philosophies did indeed focus on change and transformation, only a select few, most of them within the government of the UP, or those who had been let into the closest circles of the society, understood exactly how deeply it ran. The Trommites, after all, possessed the ability to transmute the elements. It was said that the eldest and most powerful among them could conjure virtually anything from only the atoms in the air. They were pleased to be a part of the galactic community, but rarely, if ever, ventured off world. Not from xenophobia, like the Daxamites, but for a measure of their own protection.

R.J. Brande in particular, was known to be a good friend of the Trommites, including Tarn Arrah, who worked with Brande to manufacture the element Tarnium, used in the star building process. Former criminal Mantis Morlo also counted himself amongst those most trusted.

This peaceful isolation had lasted a long time, changing only when the being known as the Worldsmith sent his agent, Roxxas the Butcher, to prepare Tromm for his arrival. The chemical agent Roxxas unleashed upon the planet killed every man, woman, child, and creature upon the planet.

All but one. Protected by his father in a transmuted cocoon, Jan was placed into a state of suspended animation. But even this would not have protected him for long, as Roxxas and his men had come down to the planet to scavenge what they could and kill what remained.

Fortunately for all, the sudden loss of communication had been detected by R.J. Brande, who asked the Legion to investigate. They were able to drive Roxxas off and rescue Jan, now the last of the Trommites. With nowhere else for him to go, the Legion took Jan in.

But unbeknownst to anyone... there is another...
